No Restrictions for Women's Participation in Society: Karrubi
Speaking before Tuesday's open session of the Iranian parliament, he extended his congratulations upon the Women's Day and stressed that Iranian laws assumed no restrictions for women's activities, IRNA reported.
He also expressed the opinion that the Late Imam's attitude toward the women's issues which was deeply rooted in the teachings of the true Islam led to negation of the ideas of those who believed promoting women's rights was exclusively encouraged by the West.
Pointing out that the Women's Day which marks the birth anniversary of the exalted daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hazrat Zahra (SA), coincides with the birth anniversary of the Late Imam Khomeini, he said the Late Imam was the one who revived the rights of Iranian women which was violently distorted through the country's history.
